About the Role
This is a senior leadership opportunity at the heart of REAL's Organic Materials portfolio, with strategic and operational responsibility for the Compost Certification Scheme, Compostable Materials Certification Scheme (CMCS), the Biofertiliser Certification Scheme (BCS), and the associated Research Hub. As Director of Organic Materials Schemes, you will lead a team of specialists across certification management, policy and stakeholder relations, and research, ensuring our schemes remain technically robust, credible, and aligned with the latest standards and regulatory developments. You will work closely with the Managing Director to contribute to Board-level reporting and organisational strategy, playing a visible role in influencing policy and engaging with government, regulators, and industry bodies. Experience
Deep technical knowledge of organic materials, including composting and anaerobic digestion, is essential. Proven experience in managing certification schemes and leading multidisciplinary teams is highly desirable.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in environmental science, waste management, renewable energy, or related fields are preferred but not mandatory. A track record of continuous professional development and leadership in the sector is important.
