About the course
Qualification Outcome
On successful completion you will gain a certificate of competency in background ventilation assessment of existing buildings, allowing you to register with the Elmhurst Air Tightness Scheme and become an IAA Approved Background Ventilation Tester. Approved testers are listed on the IAA website. Note: this course does not qualify you as an Air Tightness Tester.
Course Fee: £895 + VAT. On successful completion, individuals must sign up to the IAA scheme at £300 per annum (registration, annual surveillance and CPD; free to IAA end-to-end members).

There are no pre-requisite requirements for this course.
This two-day practical and knowledge-based course trains you to undertake a specific assessment of background ventilation, along with a comprehensive approach to ventilation assessment based on the actual performance of a property pre- and post-installation of energy efficiency measures. It addresses background ventilation requirements under PAS 2035.
