About the course
The Level 3 Battery Storage Qualification is designed for competent electricians who want to develop specialist skills in the design, installation and commissioning of Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS).
The course covers the installation of battery storage systems in accordance with the IET Code of Practice for Electrical Energy Storage Systems.
Learners develop both theoretical and practical knowledge, including how to size, install, test and commission battery storage systems safely and in accordance with relevant regulations and guidance.
The qualification is particularly relevant to electricians looking to expand into the growing renewable energy and battery storage sector.
Entry Requirements
This course is aimed at competent electricians who want to upgrade their skills into battery storage.
Applicants should have experience installing electrical installations in domestic and/or non-domestic premises.
The minimum requirements include relevant Level 3 electrical qualifications, including:
- Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations – BS 7671 (current edition)
- Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation or equivalent
- AM2 or Gold Card
