Course Overview
This qualification is designed for learners who want to acquire the basic skills and knowledge involved in electrical installation. It covers a range of practical tasks and underpinning knowledge essential for the electrical installation industry.

The course includes study of practical techniques, electrical technology, and scientific principles. Units covered include:
- Structure of the construction industry
- Fundamental safe working practices
- Environmental and sustainability measures in domestic dwellings
- Site preparation for working in the construction industry
- Electrical installation wiring and terminations
- Fabrication techniques for electrical installation
- Electrical science and technology

Qualified tutors provide guidance and support in classrooms and workshops, as well as through tutorials to help you develop industry-relevant skills and techniques. Social Activities
A programme of social and sports activities is offered to all students. Full details are available from the Student Room at your centre of study. Student rooms provide spaces to play games, meet friends, or relax.

Facilities and Resources
Both centres offer canteen and café facilities with a range of snacks, hot and cold foods, and vending machines. Halal meat and washing facilities are available. Quiet Rooms are provided for reflection. Learning Resource Centres (LRCs) are fully equipped with a wide range of learning materials and staffed by friendly, qualified personnel to support your studies.

Additional Information
Annually, students may participate in national and regional competitions across various subjects to showcase their skills. Participation is voluntary and may not apply to all courses; please consult your tutor for details.

Qualification Awarded
On successful completion, you will receive a Level 1 Diploma in Electrical Installations.

Progression
Many students progress to City and Guilds Level 2 qualifications after completing this course.

Assessment
Assessment is ongoing through assignments, online tests, and practical tasks.

Employment Opportunities
This qualification prepares you for employment as an electrician.
