Qualification Outcome
On successful completion, you will achieve the NOCN Level 3 Award in Energy Efficiency Measures for Older and Traditional Buildings - a recognised, Ofqual-regulated qualification.
Course Fee: £495 + VAT (non-funded). Warm Homes funded: £250 + VAT. IAAF Federation member (Warm Homes funded): £150 + VAT. Fully funded (free) places available for eligible applicants. CITB Levy grant funding may be available.

Entry Requirements
This course is designed for learners aged 18 or over who already have a background and experience in the construction industry. It can be undertaken without previous training, qualifications, or experience in this specific subject area, provided the learner's suitability can be evidenced beforehand. Please note that prior learning is required ahead of the online sessions, delivered through the IAA training platform.
This vocationally based qualification enables you to recognise and understand the requirements and characteristics of older and traditional (pre-1919) buildings, develop knowledge of appropriate energy efficiency measures, and make recommendations on their installation and retrofit.
Mandatory units:
- Recognising the age, nature and characteristics of older and traditional buildings
- Evaluating the options for introducing energy efficiency measures to older and traditional buildings
- Making recommendations and providing advice on the introduction of energy efficiency measures to older and traditional buildings
Modules are delivered over two live online sessions with a dedicated tutor, with pre-course reading and an end-of-module test. On completion, you can book the end-of-course exam (three 20-minute tests, 80% pass mark).
