About the course
This course is designed for practicing electricians, electrical technicians, and engineers seeking to develop skills in electric vehicle (EV) charging installations.
With electric vehicles playing a crucial role in improving air quality and supporting the UK’s climate change goals, this qualification equips participants to install dedicated charging equipment for pure electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), and extended-range electric vehicles (E-REVs).
The course covers both AC and DC charging equipment for plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) and ensures compliance with relevant standards, including BS EN 61851 and The Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installations.
The qualification has been updated to reflect the latest changes in BS7671:2018+A2:2022.

Entry Requirements and Course Details
To enrol in this course, candidates must meet one of the following prerequisites:
- Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations
- Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671 (current edition)
- Membership of a recognised Competent Persons Scheme (CPS) as a Qualified Supervisor

The course is delivered over 2 days.
