About the course
Qualification Outcome
On successful completion of your portfolio, you will achieve the Level 3 Certificate in Domestic Energy Assessment, certified by ABBE (an Ofqual-regulated awarding organisation). This allows you to assess domestic dwellings and provide EPCs (a basic DBS check is required to become an accredited Energy Assessor).

Entry Requirements
This course is designed for learners aged 18 or over who have some experience or understanding within the energy efficiency or construction sector. Some pre-reading must be completed ahead of the start date to ensure full understanding.
This qualification gives you the knowledge and skills to conduct comprehensive assessments of domestic dwellings and issue Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) to homeowners.
Mandatory units:
- Conduct energy assessments in a safe, effective and professional manner
- Prepare for energy assessments of domestic properties
- Undertake energy inspections
- Produce and explain Energy Performance Certificates relating to domestic properties
Assessment is by portfolio completed after the taught modules.
