About the Role
The Access & Recreation Officers will be part of the Conservation and Engagement team at Fife Coast & Countryside Trust. You will help oversee the day-to-day management and responsible access at all FCCT sites in accordance with the Scottish Outdoor Access Code. Additionally, you will support partner actions to ensure wider responsible access across Fife, promoting safe and sustainable enjoyment of the outdoors.

Experience
Time-served experience in a relevant position will be considered alongside formal qualifications. Working knowledge and understanding of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 and its impact on access rights is essential. Experience in appropriate equipment care and knowledge of relevant legislation is required. Proven track record of collaborative working, developing and maintaining effective relationships.
About you
You are a driven and proactive individual with a responsible character, capable of working independently. You have good verbal and written communication skills and are confident conveying the FCCT message to diverse audiences. You possess a suitable standard of fitness (able to walk 15 miles and use hand tools such as saws and spades) and can work in adverse weather conditions. You have a confident and approachable demeanour with strong interpersonal skills, able to negotiate diplomatically yet assertively. You are proactive, hard-working, and have a bias towards action. You are able to supervise tool use by Countryside Wardens and volunteers. A demonstrable personal interest in the countryside and outdoors is important. You are an excellent team player, diplomatic, flexible, empathetic to other views, and able to express your own opinions clearly.
Qualifications
Educated to SCQF level 6, including an HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject such as Countryside Management. Equivalent time-served experience in a relevant role will also be considered.
