About the Role
The London Borough of Lambeth is seeking an Arboricultural Officer to join its Tree Services team, responsible for managing and maintaining a large stock of trees across the borough’s public realm. The role involves ensuring trees are healthy and safe while maximising their environmental and economic benefits. You will support the Tree Services Manager by recording and inspecting trees, preparing work programmes, maintaining accurate records using the Ezytreev database, issuing tree work orders, and overseeing tree planting schemes. As a key front-line contact, you will handle tree-related enquiries from the public and stakeholders, conduct site visits across the borough and beyond, and provide technical advice. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a forward-thinking, dynamic team that includes climbers, ground staff, tree officers, and the wider Lambeth Landscapes operation. The council offers excellent training, career development opportunities, full PPE and kit, and a supportive working environment aligned with the One Lambeth Values of Equity, Ambition, Kindness, and Accountability.
Experience
Substantive knowledge and experience in the arboricultural industry, including previous involvement in managing a large tree stock. Experience using IT data systems is essential.
About you
Self-motivated, hard-working, and committed to delivering arboricultural services to the highest standards. You must demonstrate core values and behaviours aligned with equity, kindness, accountability, and ambition. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required. A clean driving licence is essential.
