About the Role
The Royal Parks is seeking an experienced Arboricultural Officer with specialist knowledge in the inspection, risk assessment, and management of a wide range of trees. This role focuses on surveying and managing Massaria (Splanchnonema platani) and requires application of British Standards relating to trees. You will work within a team committed to maintaining and conserving London’s iconic parks, balancing arboricultural expertise with nature conservation, including SSSI status and protected species legislation. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the health and safety of amenity trees across The Royal Parks, ensuring their longevity and ecological value.
Experience
- Proven experience in the inspection, risk assessment, and management of diverse tree species
- Experience surveying and managing Massaria (Splanchnonema platani)
- Practical knowledge of British Standards relating to arboriculture
- Understanding of nature conservation issues, including SSSI status and protected species legislation
- Excellent identification skills for a wide range of amenity trees
- Strong knowledge in identifying and assessing pests, diseases, and fungal fruit bodies affecting trees

Qualifications
- Hold, or be willing to work towards, an Arboricultural Association Professional Tree Inspection Certificate
- NVQ Level Three (NQF Level IV) qualification in Arboriculture or equivalent
- Full, valid driving licence
