About the Role
The Royal Parks is seeking an experienced Arboricultural Officer with specialist knowledge in the inspection, risk assessment, and management of a wide range of trees, including expertise in surveying and managing Massaria (Splanchnonema platani). This role involves applying British Standards relating to trees and understanding nature conservation issues, including SSSI status and protected species legislation relevant to arboriculture. You will be expected to demonstrate excellent identification skills for a wide range of amenity trees and possess strong knowledge in identifying and assessing pests, diseases, and fungal fruit bodies. The role may be known by other titles such as Tree Officer, Conservation Officer, Arboricultural Consultant, Biosecurity Officer, Plant Health Support Officer, Arboricultural Surveyor, or Tree Surgeon. Requirements

Experience
- Inspection, risk assessment, and management of a wide range of trees
- Surveying and managing Massaria (Splanchnonema platani)
- Application of British Standards relating to trees
- Understanding of nature conservation issues, SSSI status, and protected species legislation related to arboriculture
- Excellent identification skills for amenity trees
- Knowledge of pests, diseases, and fungal fruit bodies affecting trees

Qualifications
- Hold or be willing to work towards an Arboricultural Association Professional Tree Inspection Certificate
- NVQ Level Three (NQF Level IV) qualification in Arboriculture or equivalent
- Full, valid driving licence
