About the Role
United Colleges Group (UCG) is seeking an ambitious and outstanding Assistant Principal to join our forward-thinking education provider. UCG delivers world-class education and skills to over 11,000 learners annually across a wide range of vocational areas and levels. As Assistant Principal for Engineering, Construction and the Built Environment (ECBE), you will contribute to the strategic and operational management, development, and performance of all College operations within this area. This role involves leading the delivery of high-quality curriculum from Level 1 to Level 6, including Building Services, Construction, and Engineering, overseeing qualifications such as T Levels, BTECs, and other vocational and technical programmes at both Paddington Green and the Euston Skills Centre.
You will implement the College Group’s quality improvement strategies aligned with the Education Inspection Framework, driving continuous improvement through self-assessment and other initiatives. You will review and enhance the Curriculum Delivery Plan and associated processes to improve achievement, attendance, and student outcomes, ensuring performance targets are met and exceeded.
As a senior leader, you will manage and develop a team of staff, including direct line management of Curriculum Managers, overseeing staff performance, development needs, and training requirements. This role requires collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), College Leadership Team (CLT), and College Manager to translate strategic objectives into approved plans and targets.

Experience
- Proven success in improving student achievement, attendance, and progression outcomes.
- Experience in initiating and managing significant cultural change and shaping management teams to achieve planned outcomes.
- Experience motivating, developing, and managing multi-disciplinary teams across multiple sites.
- Strong understanding of curriculum development and delivering high standards of innovation in teaching and learning.
- Ability to communicate complex issues clearly and present information confidently.
- Experience managing specialist, complex projects with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to build positive internal and external relationships and manage workload effectively in a challenging environment.

Qualifications
