About the Role
At WSP, you will have the opportunity to work on landmark projects that contribute to the world’s sustainability goals. As an Associate Environmental Permitting Consultant, you will provide technical leadership and help shape the strategic direction of our Environmental Permitting, Compliance & Nuclear Regulation team. You will lead the delivery of major permitting and compliance programmes across sectors including energy, nuclear, industrial, manufacturing, waste and utilities. Your role will involve providing strategic environmental and regulatory advice, overseeing complex technical work, and expanding our environmental permitting offering nationally. You will also play a key role in winning work, building client relationships, mentoring junior staff, contributing to business planning, and collaborating across WSP’s Sustainability and Environmental businesses. You will join a growing team of 25 experts within a wider Sustainable Resources Discipline of over 100 specialists, working to translate sustainability strategy into compliant, resilient, low-risk operational change. Our main hub is in Manchester, but the team is spread across many of WSP’s 30 UK offices.
Experience
- Significant experience in environmental permitting, compliance and regulatory strategy.
- Expert knowledge of Environmental Permitting Regulations and associated regulatory frameworks.
- Proven track record delivering complex, high-value projects across regulated sectors.
- Experience developing and maintaining strategic client relationships.
- Commercial awareness with experience supporting business development and winning work.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
