About the Role
What if you could shape a career as unique as you? At WSP, you can always find opportunities to grow and do what matters to you. Make the most of our global reach to discover new challenges and chances to work with diverse, talented individuals who will help you expand your horizons.

Are you ready for the next step in your career? Are you eager to develop and help deliver and grow our portfolio of high-profile projects solving groundwater challenges in the water resources, environmental and infrastructure sectors? We are seeking to appoint a talented, enthusiastic and committed Associate / Technical Director to lead a range of projects undertaken by the Catchment Science team within our Sustainable Water Management Consulting (SWMC) group as well as play a lead role in both the learning and development of the hydrogeologists within the team.

This role offers significant scope for progression as we grow our technical services and plan for future leadership over the next five years.

Key responsibilities include:
- Leading major groundwater and water resources projects covering groundwater and water resources modelling, groundwater flooding, monitoring, water quality, hydrogeological conceptualisation and EIA, supporting decision making for nationally important projects.
- Shaping the future of groundwater capability in the business by guiding junior and mid-level hydrogeologists, developing structured training, and playing a lead role in capability growth and succession planning.
- Influencing the technical direction of a national team by contributing to innovation, defining scopes and approaches, and collaborating closely with senior leaders across Sustainable Water Management and Ground and Water specialists.
- Helping secure future work and strengthen client relationships by preparing high quality proposals, identifying new opportunities and supporting framework delivery to maintain and grow a strong project pipeline.
- Collaborating across disciplines and globally with teams in hydrogeology, EIA, water resources, mining and international WSP colleagues to deliver integrated project outcomes.

Your Team
Our Catchment Science team works across a wide spectrum of services covering water resources and security, hydrology and hydraulics, water quality, hydroecology and hydrogeology. We provide high quality technical services and advice to a wide range of high-profile customers in the UK and overseas, including government departments and agencies, the water industry, and various industrial sectors such as power, transport, nuclear, mining, commercial and oil and gas.

Demand for our skills has grown significantly during AMP7 and AMP8 periods, particularly within the UK Water Company Sector and associated Regulators. To meet this demand and provide resilience and succession within the team, we are looking to recruit a high calibre Associate / Technical Director. We offer a dynamic, supportive environment for a motivated and talented individual to fulfil their potential.

We recognise that our people are central to our success as a business. Imagine a better future for you and a better future for us all. Work on landmark projects around the world and embrace opportunities to make an even bigger impact in the communities you care about.
