About the Role
We are looking for a safety-conscious Banksman to help manage vehicle movements at a busy operational site in Sheffield. Working alongside drivers, weighbridge operators and site teams, you will help ensure vehicles move safely and efficiently around the yard. This is a hands-on, predominantly outdoor role suited to someone who communicates clearly, remains alert and follows site safety procedures. Previous Banksman experience is beneficial, but relevant experience in a yard, recycling, logistics or a similar operational environment may also be suitable.

Experience
Previous experience as a Banksman is desirable. Experience working in a yard, recycling, logistics or a similar operational environment is also beneficial.

About You
Strong communication skills and confidence giving clear instructions to drivers. A safety-conscious and observant approach. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. Willingness to work predominantly outdoors. Ability to follow site procedures and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Control vehicle movements safely throughout the yard.
- Give clear instructions and signals to drivers.
- Communicate with weighbridge operators and operational teams.
- Ensure first-time visitors complete the required site induction.
- Monitor compliance with site operating times and traffic rules.
- Report drivers who fail to follow movement instructions.
- Ensure PPE requirements are followed.
- Keep the yard clear of debris, obstacles and potential hazards.
- Arrange cleaning support when required.
- Assist other site teams when necessary.
