About the Role
The Woodland Trust is seeking a Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) Manager to lead the development and delivery of BNG projects across the Trust’s estate. This role involves identifying and managing on-site opportunities and habitat banks to support our Create and Restore goals. You will build and manage relationships with local authorities, partners, and internal teams to unlock BNG opportunities. Key responsibilities include coordinating BNG activities and governance to ensure regulatory compliance, robust delivery frameworks, and effective reporting across the organisation. You will provide technical, ecological, and project management support including site assessments, due diligence, and monitoring. Developing and implementing a strategic, Trust-wide approach to BNG is essential to support consistency, best practice, and alignment with monitoring and evaluation principles. You will also support external affairs and policy teams with technical input on planning matters and champion the Trust’s position on BNG in external forums. Budget management, securing development leads in collaboration with the Corporate Partnerships team, and leading partnership and agreement development for BNG delivery are also key aspects of this role. This is a 36-month fixed term contract.
