About the Role
Energy Saving Trust is a leading organisation dedicated to promoting energy efficiency, low carbon transport, and sustainable energy use to address the climate emergency and support the transition to net zero. This role is part of Business Energy Scotland, a key advice and support service funded by the Scottish Government to provide free, impartial support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Scotland. As a Business Energy Advisor - Customer Manager, you will work closely with SMEs to identify energy saving opportunities that deliver carbon and cost savings. You will support businesses in overcoming barriers to installing low carbon technologies such as heat pumps and building fabric insulation, as well as advising on a wider range of energy efficiency and renewable technologies. Your work will involve 1-2-1 conversations, in-person events, online webinars, and desktop reviews of technical specifications. You will play a central role in delivering high-quality advice and support that enables SMEs to implement energy efficiency, low carbon heat, and renewable projects, helping them become more competitive and progress towards Net Zero.
What You’ll Do
- Actively engage with SMEs to understand their energy-related challenges and opportunities to determine the appropriate support
- Liaise with SMEs and contracted energy consultants to obtain technical information for energy efficiency assessments
- Assist SMEs with queries regarding their bespoke energy assessment reports and recommended measures
- Identify and help resolve barriers to installation of measures, including facilitating access to the Scottish Government SME Loan Scheme
Experience
Demonstrable experience with energy efficiency, low-carbon heating, and renewable technologies in buildings. Proven ability to deliver high standards of customer service and explain complex information clearly and accessibly.

Excellent oral and written communication skills with both internal and external customers. Motivated to support SMEs in their energy saving and carbon reduction journeys. Collaborative team player who values innovation and individual input.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or experience in energy efficiency or related fields are desirable. Eligibility to work in the UK is required. No visa sponsorship is available for this role.
