About the Role
Join the Estate Services Team at London and Quadrant Housing Trust (L&Q) as a Caretaker. You will play a key role in maintaining communal areas within our blocks and estates, carrying out communal cleaning and grounds maintenance work. Your responsibilities will include performing small maintenance repairs, liaising directly with residents and contractors, and responding to queries. You will work with due regard to health & safety and security issues, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our residents. This permanent role is based in Harrow, reporting to the West Ham Lane office in Stratford, London. Early applications are encouraged as the vacancy may close sooner than the stated date.

Experience
Capable of carrying out a variety of small repair jobs. Trade skills, gardening or DIY experience would be an advantage. Experience with recognised City & Guilds or Bics qualifications in cleaning is beneficial but not essential as training will be provided.
About you
A good communicator who is willing to learn new skills as the service adapts to changing neighbourhood needs. Able to work on your own initiative, self-motivated to organise your time effectively, proactive in daily activities and aware of safe working practices. Possess a good literacy standard and basic IT skills to use a PC, undertake online courses and assessments (training provided during probation).
Qualifications
No specific qualifications are required for this role, but relevant trade or cleaning qualifications are advantageous. A Basic Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) certificate is required or must be applied for upon appointment.
