About the Role
As a Grounds Operative at Sodexo, you will play a vital role in maintaining the stunning University of Greenwich campus, including the Winter Gardens. The university combines historic architecture with modern facilities, providing an exceptional environment for students. You will be responsible for routine maintenance of sports pitches, including grass and artificial surfaces, marking out pitches according to fixture schedules, and operating groundskeeping equipment such as mowers, line markers, and strimmers. Additional duties include monitoring pitch conditions, assisting with seasonal tasks like aeration, fertilising and reseeding, maintaining cleanliness of surrounding areas, supporting event setup and takedown, and ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures at all times. This role requires a self-motivated individual with great attention to detail and a proactive "can do" attitude, capable of working independently and using their own initiative.

Experience
- Experience in grounds or outdoor maintenance
- Level 2 GNVQ groundsman or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of pitch care and turf management

Qualifications
- Driving licence (essential)
- Desirable: Experience with sports pitch preparation, PA1 & PA6 Herbicide application
- Desirable: Knowledge of health and safety in a facilities environment
