About the Role
Medway Council is seeking a Climate Response Development Officer to lead engagement work supporting the successful delivery of Medway’s Climate Change Action Plan. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of residents and communities by developing and delivering inclusive engagement activities and content that promote local climate action. You will build partnerships and empower people to get involved, working with a diverse range of residents, communities, partners, and colleagues. The role requires strong organisational skills to interpret and communicate data and information in accessible and engaging ways. You will be supported through induction, probation, and ongoing performance appraisal within a Career Progression Framework that encourages development and progression from level A to B and C. Interviews will take place during the week commencing 5th January 2026.
Experience
Effective communication skills to lead workshops, consultations, and public events. Experience communicating across a range of audiences. Experience planning and delivering communication or engagement activities. Knowledge of the role local authorities play in addressing climate change.
