Hours
Full Time - 37 hours per week. Part-time or job share applications are welcomed.

£32,046 - £34,811 per annum (depending on experience)

About the Role
Join the South West Coastal Monitoring team based at the University of Plymouth to help monitor the coastline around the whole of South West England. This fixed-term contract (up to 12 months) covers maternity leave and offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside a team of coastal process scientists. You will be involved in collecting, appraising, and analysing data supporting coastal processes along our beautiful coastline. Requirements

Experience
An Honours Degree or equivalent in Marine Science, Marine Geography, Civil or Maritime Engineering, Oceanography or a related field. Proven competency in researching and analysing coastal process data. Strong IT skills including GIS, particularly related to coastal processes and management.

About you
Ability to undertake independent research and produce detailed analytical reports with advice and recommendations for coastal management authorities. Excellent communication skills to engage with a wide variety of audiences and build effective working relationships internally and externally. Excellent knowledge of coastal processes and their impact on local communities. Understanding of coastal management practices. Physically fit to undertake coastal asset surveys involving carrying equipment and walking significant distances.

Qualifications
A relevant degree as stated above is essential. The candidate will be expected to work at Grade D level as outlined in the job description. A positive attitude towards teamwork, inclusivity, and equal opportunities is essential.
