Location
Devon, UK - This post can be home-based if circumstances allow, with occasional use of office locations within Devon. Significant travel across the south and east of Devon is required.
Hours
Full Time - 37.5 hours per week. Flexible working arrangements considered, including part-time (2-3 days per week), job share proposals, and secondments.
Salary
£28,665 - £31,000 per annum
About the Role
The Bat Conservation Trust (BCT) is the leading non-governmental organisation dedicated to bat conservation and habitat protection. Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the Connecting People and Landscapes (CPL) in a Changing Climate project aims to build resilient landscapes by bringing together farmers, landowners, and communities across Devon and the South West.
As a Community Collaboration and Outreach Officer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering this four-year fixed-term project. You will work closely with rural communities to reconnect them with biodiversity, regenerative farming, and the landscapes that sustain them. Your responsibilities will include designing and delivering workshops, farm open days, citizen science initiatives, and outreach campaigns that engage underrepresented and rural communities.
You will collaborate with farmers, landowners, volunteers, and local groups to inspire and support biodiversity champions. You will also manage small community grants, build partnerships with community, youth, and volunteer groups, and oversee budgets and project reporting while ensuring risk management compliance.

About you
You will be enthusiastic and committed to community engagement and conservation. You must have a full, valid driving licence and access to a vehicle due to frequent and extensive travel to locations not served by public transport. The role requires a basic DBS check.
