Location
Devon, UK - This post can be home-based if circumstances allow, with occasional use of office locations within Devon. Significant travel across the south and east of the county is required.

Hours
Full Time - 37.5 hours per week. Flexible working arrangements considered including part-time (2-3 days per week), job shares, and secondments.

Salary
£28,665 - £31,000 per annum

About the Role
The Bat Conservation Trust (BCT) is the leading NGO dedicated to bat conservation and habitat protection. Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the Connecting People and Landscapes (CPL) in a Changing Climate project works with farmers, landowners, and communities across Devon and the South West to build resilient landscapes in response to climate change. As a Community Collaboration and Outreach Officer, you will play a key role in delivering this four-year fixed-term project by engaging rural communities with biodiversity, regenerative farming, and landscape stewardship.
You will collaborate with local groups, volunteers, farmers, and landowners to design and deliver workshops, farm open days, citizen science initiatives, and outreach campaigns. Your work will focus on ensuring inclusive participation, especially from underserved and rural communities, to foster a lasting connection between people and nature.
Additional responsibilities include managing small community grants, building partnerships with community and youth groups, overseeing budgets, reporting on project progress, and ensuring risk management compliance.

Experience
- Working with underrepresented communities

- Understanding and communicating the impacts of climate change on wildlife

About you
Enthusiastic and committed to community engagement and conservation.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Flexible and adaptable to working across rural locations.
Full, valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for frequent travel within the project area.

Qualifications
This role requires a basic DBS check.
