About the Role
Would you like to be part of a dynamic, award-winning, local charity that helps communities to thrive? Support Staffordshire, in partnership with The Globe Group and Staffordshire Community Energy (SCE), is excited to recruit a Community Energy Team Leader. This 12-month fixed term role offers the chance to make a real difference by helping communities across Staffordshire embrace cleaner, greener energy.
You will work closely with SCE on their new Energetic Communities project supporting the creation of Community Energy Plans in six local areas, embedding sustainable solutions at a neighbourhood level. You will also play a key role in developing and delivering new community energy projects.
Alongside this, you will lead the growth of our new Community Energy Hub, a service providing training, advice, and energy audits to voluntary organisations, volunteers, and the wider community.
We are looking for someone who combines technical know-how with strong people skills and has a good understanding of local organisations and networks across Staffordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with passion, initiative, and the ability to bring people together around practical climate action.
Experience
Experience working with community energy projects or in a related environmental or sustainability role is desirable. Proven ability to develop and deliver community-focused initiatives and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
About you
Passionate about climate action and community engagement. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across local organisations and networks. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Qualifications
Relevant technical knowledge or qualifications in energy, sustainability, or community development are advantageous but not essential. Proof of right to work in the UK and two satisfactory references will be required for the successful candidate.
