About the Role
Advanced Engineering Solutions (AES) is expanding its advisory services in water engineering consulting and seeks an ambitious Consulting Engineer to lead this growth. AES has a strong reputation in pipeline engineering and a unique dataset of condition assessments, providing game-changing insights to water utilities. As the water sector’s importance grows, so do the opportunities within AES. This role offers more than engineering—it is a chance to lead, influence, and grow a consultancy practice within an established engineering firm.
With the water industry shifting focus to Asset Health in the latest regulatory period (AMP8), utilities require smarter, data-driven decision-making. AES is at the forefront, delivering cutting-edge pipeline inspections and structural assessments. As Consulting Engineer, you will lead the expansion of AES’s consultancy business by translating technical insights into commercial opportunities, managing a team of graduate and masters-level engineers, supporting clients in making informed investment and maintenance decisions, overseeing delivery of condition assessment reports, and working closely with engineering, sales, and commercial teams to bridge technical solutions with business growth.
This role offers the chance to be an entrepreneurial leader shaping the future of AES and the water sector within the wider South Staffordshire plc group, combining the stability of a larger organisation with the agility of a growing consultancy.
