About the Role
Sussex Wildlife Trust is delivering an ambitious new strategic plan, Our Wild Sussex, aimed at restoring and protecting at least 30% of Sussex land and sea for nature, inspiring one in four people to take meaningful action for wildlife, building a stronger, more inclusive and diverse organisation, and becoming a net zero and climate resilient organisation. As our Corporate Partnerships Officer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering this strategy by supporting the implementation and review of our fundraising contributions. You will build and maintain strong relationships with our corporate members, involving them in the Trust’s work and inspiring support for a wide range of projects. Using your networking skills, you will proactively seek new corporate supporters at events and retain existing ones by organising corporate events on our nature reserves across the county. You will develop our corporate volunteering programme in collaboration with the land management team, creating memorable experiences for supporters’ employees. As an active member of the Fundraising team, you will share skills and ideas at regular meetings. The role requires creativity and innovation to secure business support across Sussex and involves attending networking events and fostering connections between corporates and wildlife projects such as the Rye Harbour Discovery Centre. You will also participate in fundraising events alongside the wider fundraising department to generate new income streams for the Trust.
Experience
Enthusiasm for fundraising and wildlife conservation is essential. Experience in corporate partnership management, event organisation, or fundraising is desirable but not mandatory as potential to grow into the role is welcomed.
About you
You will be passionate about nature and wildlife in Sussex and committed to the Trust’s values of Innovation, Passion, Collaboration, and Inclusion. You will be an effective communicator, able to advocate for nature with energy and commitment. Collaboration and teamwork will be central to your approach, helping you engage supporters and colleagues effectively. You will be well organised, able to manage your time efficiently, and maintain a professional approach to planning and communication. A strong commitment to inclusion and diversity is important, and you should be motivated to help everyone connect with nature.
