About the Role
Join Microsoft as a Data Center Critical Environment Technician Manager within our Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team, the engine powering Microsoft’s cloud services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and Azure. You will play a key role in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies across a global portfolio of over 200 datacenters in 32 countries. This role focuses on people management, equipment and systems operations, maintenance, and fostering a culture of safety and reliability.

As a manager, you will empower and coach your team by modeling Microsoft’s culture and leadership principles, defining objectives, and investing in individual growth. You will oversee inspection and maintenance of critical environment equipment such as HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and controls systems, ensuring safe and reliable operations. You will lead incident response efforts, develop and enhance emergency and standard operating procedures, and coordinate with third-party contractors and vendors.

Requirements

Experience
- Mission critical services work or applied learning experience in high availability environments such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related fields.
- Experience directing, supervising, or managing others or leading projects.
- Availability for escalation outside standard business hours.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements including passing the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years thereafter.

- Hands-on understanding of equipment operation and troubleshooting within your trained discipline(s) such as electrical, mechanical, or controls.
- Commitment to safety and security, ensuring compliance with job hazard assessments, toolbox talks, and business processes.
- Ability to coordinate and oversee third-party contractors and vendor activities safely and effectively.
- Proactive in maintaining safe working conditions and escalating concerns immediately.

Qualifications
- Required: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent AND mission critical services experience or equivalent.
- Preferred: Associate's Degree, technical trade certification, or higher education AND mission critical services experience.
- People management experience.
- Specialized experience in mechanical, electrical, or controls fields is advantageous.
