
Location
The role can be fully remote within the UK, with some travel to our office in Shrewsbury, Shropshire and to sites throughout the UK. Travel for site visits, meetings and conferences is an integral part of this role. While video conferencing is used extensively, meeting community energy groups in their own area and visiting sites is expected.
Hours
Nominally normal office hours, 37.5 hours per week full-time or 30 hours per week for a 0.8 contract. Evening and occasional weekend meetings are required, along with occasional overnight stays. Flexibility to work around project needs is essential.
Salary
£42,000 - £45,000 per annum full-time equivalent (FTE).
About the Role
Sharenergy is one of the UK’s leading community energy organisations, supporting groups across the UK since 2011 to find, develop, build and run successful renewable energy projects. We work across wind, solar, hydro and heat technologies, acting as consultants and incubators for innovative community energy approaches. Our Development Team currently has 4 members who collaborate closely with volunteer-led groups, energy experts, commercial and community entities to deliver new projects.
As Development Team Manager, you will lead this team, liaise with existing clients and find new opportunities, manage consultancy and incubator work, and contribute to Sharenergy’s strategy alongside the Management Team and Board. You will represent Sharenergy’s development offer within the sector and beyond.
This role offers the opportunity to build close working relationships with innovative and driven community energy groups across the UK. You will be hands-on and involved in project delivery, working at the heart of community energy through financial modelling, technical analysis, planning and project delivery. Experience
At least 3 years experience in the energy industry or a closely related field. Experience in project administration and management. A very good understanding of renewable energy technologies.
