About the Role
This role sits within the Digital Development department of Kent Wildlife Trust Group (KWTG), a team of seven focused on integrating data-driven decision making and spatial planning across the charity and its associated organisations. The Digital Development Assistant (Junior Software Engineer) will work closely with the Digital Development Lead and Deputy Director to implement web applications that support impact tracking and data management. Initial projects include developing a portal linking GIS parcels in a PostgreSQL database with landowner data in the CRM, a system to report income generated at reserves, and enhancing the MyWilderKent app to encourage nature-positive actions. Long term, the role will contribute to automating manual tasks, enabling live impact reporting, spatial planning, and creating engaging digital tools to support the Trust’s Wilder Kent 2030 strategy. This is an entry-level role welcoming recent graduates, career changers, and self-taught developers, offering the opportunity to learn and grow within a collaborative and supportive hybrid team environment.

You will thrive in a social, hybrid team environment, enjoying collaboration, sharing achievements and challenges, and building positive relationships with colleagues.
Qualifications
No formal qualifications are required. We welcome applications from recent graduates, career changers, and self-taught developers who demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to learning.
