About the Role
Lead the movement for nature’s recovery in the North East as the Director of Engagement and Fundraising at Northumberland Wildlife Trust. This is a unique opportunity to join a forward-thinking charity at a pivotal moment, driving strategic change, growing support, and inspiring action for nature and climate. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be a key member of the senior leadership team, guiding strategic development and activities to achieve the Trust’s mission. Your responsibilities will include generating income from diverse sources, fostering widespread support from communities, partners, and businesses, managing budgetary control, monitoring KPIs, and ensuring successful outcomes for people, nature, and climate. We are looking for a driven and ambitious leader with a clear belief in the work of The Wildlife Trusts and a passion for wildlife and social justice.
Experience
Proven leadership experience in engagement, fundraising, or a related field, ideally within the charity or environmental sector. Demonstrable success in income generation from multiple sources and managing strategic partnerships.

You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, are driven and ambitious, and have the ability to inspire and mobilize diverse communities and stakeholders. You are comfortable working as part of a senior leadership team and have strong financial and project management capabilities.
Qualifications
Relevant professional qualifications or equivalent experience in fundraising, engagement, leadership, or related disciplines are desirable but not essential. A clear commitment to the values and mission of The Wildlife Trusts is essential.
