About the Role
Join the Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA) as their new Director of Programmes! This is an exciting opportunity to lead and expand the impact of an international NGO dedicated to defending the natural world. As EIA UK continues to grow, the scale and complexity of our programme and campaign work require expanded leadership capacity. We are appointing a second Director of Programmes to work alongside the existing postholder, ensuring our programmes, campaigns, and Intelligence and Investigations team are delivered strategically, collaboratively, and effectively.
This co-leadership role is a key position within the Executive Team, overseeing specific programmes and working closely with the fellow Director to ensure coherence and alignment across EIA UK’s broader programme portfolio. The role carries significant responsibility for organisational leadership, governance, compliance, and risk management, playing a central part in advancing EIA UK’s strategic direction and integrating programmes with organisational operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and overseeing programme strategies in close coordination with the fellow Director of Programmes, ensuring they are mission-driven and strategically aligned
- Leading and supporting change management processes
- Collaborating with the Executive Director and other Directors on long-term strategic planning
- Ensuring programmes are effectively integrated into EIA UK’s operations to support organisational coherence and cross-team collaboration
- Managing risk and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
- Line-managing Programme and Campaign Leads and fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion
Experience
Significant leadership experience at a Director level within a non-profit organisation, managing multiple programmes and campaigns. Strong project management and financial management skills. Extensive experience collaborating across core organisational functions including Finance, Operations, HR, Communications, and Fundraising in an integrated leadership capacity.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in leadership within the non-profit or environmental sector are desirable but not explicitly stated.
