About the Role
EDF Europe (EDFE) is seeking a Director, Private Sector Engagement to lead and shape our work with businesses and financial institutions across Europe. This senior role provides vision, strategy, and leadership to advance corporate engagement and sustainable finance initiatives that support the decarbonization of the real economy. Reporting to the Executive Director, Europe, with a dotted line to the US-based Senior Vice President EDF+Biz, you will collaborate closely with EDF’s global and European teams, particularly the EDF+Business department. Your work will focus on accelerating environmental leadership and innovation across industries such as shipping, agriculture, oil & gas, and hydrogen, while influencing financial flows towards sustainable projects.

You will lead the development and execution of Europe’s Sustainable Finance and Corporate Engagement strategies, act as a strategic voice within the financial system, and build partnerships with investors, companies, and industry consortia. The role involves managing a small team based in Brussels, overseeing budgets and communications, supporting fundraising efforts, and working with multidisciplinary colleagues across policy, science, economics, and communications. You will also contribute to fostering an inclusive organizational culture aligned with EDF’s values.

Key initiatives include collaboration on projects like the Dairy Methane Action Alliance and the Net Zero Action Accelerator, alongside advocacy with policymakers and standard-setters to promote frameworks that enable decarbonization while supporting business success. Regular travel between London and Brussels is expected for those based in the UK.
