About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Duty Security Manager at a refurbished, high-footfall corporate retail destination in the heart of London's West End. This vibrant site offers a dynamic environment at the centre of the capital's retail and entertainment district. As Duty Shift Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the safety and security of all people and property across public areas and facilities. You will lead by example, delivering high standards of guarding, safety, and customer service to both clients and visitors. This role requires a proactive, professional approach and the ability to manage incidents calmly and effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy and manage the security team to maintain a satisfactory security presence as required by the customer
- Ensure all security personnel adhere to site policies and procedures and report breaches immediately
- Maintain discipline on shift, including uniform standards and punctuality
- Conduct thorough handovers at shift start to ensure continuity
- Maintain the highest standards of customer care when dealing with staff and visitors
- Proactively monitor staff discipline, standards, and conduct
- Regularly patrol all site areas to maintain security
- Oversee contract officers’ performance and take corrective actions as needed
- Liaise with CIS Managers and senior Supervisors to keep them updated
- Audit site equipment and maintain accurate paperwork
- Build strong relationships with the main Control Room
- Understand and monitor site specifications and activity frequencies
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the company’s reputation
- Identify training needs and support staff development
- Ensure all changes to site operations are documented and communicated
- Set and maintain high personal and professional standards
- Ensure compliance with administrative, health and safety, and quality procedures
- Complete required risk audits and escalate issues
- Conduct annual appraisals and encourage personal development
- Attend meetings with customers and management to support quality service delivery
- Manage timesheets, holiday, and sickness forms timely
- Monitor absence levels and engage with management to reduce issues
- Document investigatory and capability actions in coordination with senior staff
- Carry out reasonable requests from CIS management

Experience
- SIA Licence required
- Experience as a Team Leader, Supervisor, or Lead Officer
- Proven ability to manage incidents calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment

- SIA Licence (mandatory)
