
Location
Leeds and/or Kenilworth, UK. Most site work will be based between these locations.
Hours
Full time, with travel and overnight stays regularly required, especially during peak survey season.
Salary
From £28,000 dependent on skillset.
About the Role
Join Thomson Environmental Consultants as an Ecological Consultant within our dynamic and busy terrestrial ecology team. You will work across our Leeds and Kenilworth offices, delivering a variety of environmental projects that enable nature and business to thrive together. Experience
- Proven previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a commercial consultancy
- Prior experience of project management/coordination and/or coordinating surveys
- Working knowledge of ecology, legislation, and survey best practice
About you
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to write clear, concise reports
- A positive outlook and strong desire to succeed
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently and stay away from home overnight
- Full, clean UK driving licence and use of a car
- Membership to the Chartered Institute of Ecological and Environmental Management (CIEEM)
Qualifications
- Degree or postgraduate degree in ecology or a closely related subject field
Desirable Skills
- One or more protected species licences (e.g. GCN, bat, dormouse)
- Ornithological skills
- Botany skills
