About the Role
An exciting opportunity has opened for a permanent, part-time Education Officer to join a small and supportive team at The Ecology Centre. Based at the beautiful, purpose-built Centre on the banks of Kinghorn Loch, you will plan and deliver engaging, hands-on environmental education sessions that make a real difference to individuals and the wider community. You will work outdoors with a wide range of people, particularly young people and adults with additional support needs, connecting them with nature in meaningful and life-enhancing ways. The role involves delivering outdoor and environmental education at The Ecology Centre site and throughout Fife, including Forest School sessions, Forest and Outdoor Leadership Awards (FOLA), supported volunteering, nature nurture sessions, outdoor play projects, and CPD sessions. You will engage with a wide range of school and community groups from pre-school age to adults. Normal working days are Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work required under The Ecology Centre’s Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) system. While the role is currently term-time only, there is the possibility of overtime during school holidays. The role requires walking to sites, carrying equipment, and working in a busy open plan office environment. Flexibility in working hours is offered to accommodate core delivery needs and personal circumstances.
