About the Role
At BMW Group, we believe a good internship is never hands-off. You will be treated as part of the team from day one, encouraged to bring your own ideas to the table, and given real responsibilities to demonstrate your capabilities. This 13-month placement starting July 2025 is based at MINI Plant, Oxford, within the Energy and Environmental Management team. The team is responsible for interpreting and deploying BMW Group sustainability strategies and ensuring compliance with UK environmental regulations.

During your internship, you will enhance your understanding of environmental legislation in a manufacturing context, develop awareness of environmental topics and strategies for improvement, and monitor performance of key environmental areas. You will develop and implement processes to gather data and produce compliance reports, create active communication initiatives to raise environmental awareness among employees, and manipulate data for effective display and analysis. You will leverage Power BI and other data visualization tools to develop advanced reporting capabilities, establish targets and reporting structures within the BMW cloud environment, and engage in cross-functional collaboration across UK manufacturing plants. Additionally, you will support energy-related sustainability initiatives and projects, gaining valuable hands-on experience in environmental management within a leading automotive company.

Requirements

Experience
Work experience in areas such as administration, building, business, construction, or engineering is beneficial but not essential. Awareness of environmental topics is important.

About you
You should have strong teamwork skills with the ability to lead and motivate others, confident decision-making abilities, and effective time and project management skills. A practical, flexible, and innovative approach to work with the ability to prioritise workload is essential. IT skills are preferred, particularly experience with the Microsoft Office Suite. A full driving licence may be required for travel between sites.

Qualifications
You must be studying towards a relevant environmental or business-related degree and be on course to achieve a 2:1 or above. You should be eligible to return to studies for at least six months after the placement and have the legal right to work in the UK.
