About the Role
As a Consultant within SLR's Energy & Emissions Excellence team, you will be part of a cross-country and cross-sector team delivering projects that optimize energy use, reduce carbon emissions, and improve the economics of our clients' operations. You will support Project Managers and lead workstreams within larger projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables and developing actionable recommendations. Your responsibilities include data gathering and structuring, client relationship management, and contributing to internal initiatives that support the team's success.

Your role includes:
- Delivering Energy & Emissions Excellence projects by assessing technology options within regulatory and market contexts
- Participating in site visits to gain real-world understanding of energy systems
- Leading model development and defining digital twins of site energy systems, future consumption, emissions, and costs
- Defining and evaluating scenarios integrating energy sourcing and asset deployment based on total cost of ownership
- Developing and delivering optimal energy and infrastructure transition plans, including financing and contracting models
- Supporting client strategies for supply chain decarbonisation, including innovative insetting schemes
- Contributing to business development and proposal preparation leveraging sector and market expertise
- Supporting people and skills development within the team through coaching and mentoring
- Conducting research to update databases on decarbonisation levers, regulations, and market benchmarks
- Leading interns and analysts to support their professional growth

The role is based in Brussels, Düsseldorf, or London, with flexible working arrangements and occasional travel within Europe.

Experience
3 to 5 years of professional experience in sustainability and decarbonisation, with strong consulting skills including analytical thinking, creativity, and the ability to translate strategy into practical actions. Experience in data-driven technical and economic analyses of energy systems, particularly in energy efficiency, green technologies, and industrial energy processes.

About You
You hold a university degree (Master's or PhD) in environmental sciences, engineering, business, or economics. You are fluent in English (minimum C1 level) and at least one of the following languages: German, Dutch, or French, both written and spoken. You are motivated to join a collaborative and supportive team environment and are open to occasional travel within Europe.

Qualifications
