About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH) Estates Senior Management Team as the Energy & Sustainability Manager within the Capital, Estates & Facilities directorate. You will be part of a forward-thinking team with a proven record of delivery and a continuous improvement mindset. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategy, operational management, and delivery of the organisation's green plan initiatives, maximising resources and investments to achieve specific sustainability goals. You will explore new opportunities to improve performance and effectiveness in a sustainable and efficient manner. As an experienced professional, you will provide expert advice and communicate complex information clearly to various stakeholders, confidently representing the organisation at a regional level. This role requires a vision-led individual with ambition and a strong desire to make a difference, helping to steer the Trust forward as a leading provider of mental health and addictions services in Greater Manchester.

Main Duties
You will work closely with the Capital, Estates and Facilities senior leadership team to ensure compliance with contractual terms and key performance indicators, focusing on statutory, mandatory, and best practice compliance and due diligence audits. The role demands respect and value for GMMH service users and their carers, embracing the core values of the organisation.

Qualifications
Essential:
- Degree level qualification
- Project Management qualification
Desirable:
- Chartered membership of a professional body

Experience
Essential:
- Experience in sustainability and energy management roles
- Experience managing energy utilities
- Experience within the NHS
Desirable:
- Experience of the NHS Carbon Reduction Plan
- Experience using an Energy Bureau
- Experience of carbon management
- Experience delivering energy and sustainability schemes
- Experience working in a pressure environment and collating energy data

Skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide expert advice and convey complex information to diverse stakeholders
- Confident representation of the organisation at a regional level
