About the Role
We are seeking an Engagement Lead to design, deliver, monitor and evaluate a plan of activities that engage people with the Cumbrian landscape’s past, present and future. Your work will inspire support for its conservation by increasing the impact of our efforts through creative and engaging approaches. You will focus on framing issues in ways that resonate with both current and potential supporters. A strong commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion will underpin how you engage with people. This role reports to the Head of Campaigns and Engagement and includes direct management of an Engagement Trainee. This is an exciting time to join Friends of the Earth, building on a 91-year history with a new strategic focus on Planning, Tourism, Tranquillity and Nature Recovery. Interviews will be held in the week commencing Monday 6 October 2025 at our Kendal office (in person).
Experience
Proven experience in designing and delivering engagement plans that inspire and mobilize communities. Experience managing and mentoring junior staff or trainees is desirable.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in community engagement, environmental education, or related fields are preferred but not essential.
