About the Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Environment & Sustainability Advisor to join our Transport Infrastructure HSEQ Team, working across our Regional Network accounts. This permanent role offers hybrid working and plays a key part in enabling the business to demonstrate compliance and achieve continual improvements in environment and sustainability.

You will work collaboratively with environmental, carbon and sustainability teams at Amey, clients, partners and the supply chain to deliver zero carbon, nature-based and best practice solutions that reduce environmental impact. You will provide environmental advice and support to operational teams, share knowledge effectively, and collaborate with Health, Safety, Environment and Quality colleagues to ensure compliance within highways and waste operations.

Key responsibilities include reviewing and communicating changes in environmental laws and standards, identifying and addressing environmental and social issues in decision-making, updating policies and procedures, and helping operational teams identify environmental risks and opportunities. You will support the creation and delivery of environmental and carbon management plans, handle environmental permission applications, liaise with regulators, assess competence and awareness needs, deliver briefings and training, monitor compliance through inspections and audits, and track and analyse environmental performance including carbon reporting.

Additional duties include investigating pollution incidents, supporting ISO 14001 certification, participating in industry associations and initiatives, promoting best practice and innovation, contributing to bids with best practice and case studies, collating and reporting on environment and sustainability performance data, and providing work winning support.

Experience
- Experience in Environment, Sustainability and/or Carbon.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships at all levels.
- Good organisational and planning skills.

Qualifications
- Valid driving licence is required.
- Membership of ISEP or a similar professional membership organisation is desirable.
