About the Role
Join the @One Alliance, a pioneering collaboration between Anglian Water and seven industry-leading partners including Balfour Beatty, to deliver over half of Anglian Water's capital investment programme. As we enter AMP8, our most ambitious Asset Management Period, we are preparing to deliver a larger programme than ever before, focusing on innovative nature-based solutions such as wetlands and urban drainage schemes.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Environment & Sustainability Manager to lead and support our commitment to environmental excellence and sustainability within the Alliance. In this role, you will oversee environmental compliance, promote sustainable practices across projects, and ensure adherence to environmental legislation and best practices. You will manage a team of Environment and Sustainability Advisors and collaborate across various teams to drive continuous improvement in environmental performance.

Key responsibilities include:
- Providing direct project support and expertise on environmental issues
- Developing and implementing sustainable working practices during construction
- Ensuring compliance with the Alliance Management System (AMS) and environmental legislation
- Managing environmental audits, inspections, and non-conformance reports
- Leading ISO 14001 audits and managing an environmental audit schedule
- Leading Environment and Sustainability Team meetings and engaging with internal and external stakeholders
- Developing and delivering environmental training and educational materials
- Collating, validating, and reporting on environmental and sustainability performance data
- Driving continuous improvement based on performance targets and audit outcomes

Experience
Proven environmental management experience within the construction industry. Experience with environmental and sustainability issues such as contaminated land, waste management, soil testing, carbon, ecology, and incident investigation. Familiarity with relevant legislation and regulations.

About you
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in document production tools including Visio, Power BI, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and GIS. Strong organizational and negotiation skills. Ability to develop strategic solutions and resolve conflicts effectively.

Qualifications
Degree in an environmental-related subject. PIEMA Membership required, IEMA Chartered status desirable. Lead ISO 14001 Auditor or Auditor training qualification.
