About the Role
Are you passionate about protecting and enhancing the environment to make a real impact on our roads? National Highways is seeking an Environment Team Manager to join the South East team. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the environmental future of the Strategic Road Network, ensuring projects and maintenance activities are sustainable, compliant, and forward-thinking. You will manage and develop a team of environmental specialists, supporting their growth and performance. Acting as the regional focal point for environmental requirements, impacts, and needs, you will embed environmental considerations into forward programmes and maintenance plans. You will set direction for inspections and maintenance regimes to ensure compliance with standards, maintain accurate environmental asset data and systems, and drive the development and implementation of best practice processes. The role requires driving as part of the duties, so a full driving licence with no more than 3 points is essential.
