About the Role
We are seeking an Environmental DNA (eDNA) Business Development Manager to lead sales and marketing activities within the eDNA sector. This new and exciting revenue-focused role involves identifying and engaging customers, securing commitments, and generating new profitable revenues. Key responsibilities include conducting market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities and understand industry trends, building and maintaining strong client relationships, developing and implementing strategic business development plans aligned with company growth goals, driving sales efforts including negotiating contracts and closing deals to meet or exceed revenue targets, and engaging in strategic networking by attending industry events and conferences. The role requires close collaboration with colleagues to promote SGS services across business lines and service areas.
Experience
Significant experience in a highly technical B2B environment, ideally with public sector procurement experience. Proven sales focus with a strong drive to succeed in identifying and securing new business.
About you
Self-motivated and results-driven individual with excellent communication and networking skills. Ability to work collaboratively and promote services across multiple business units. Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the UK and train overseas.
Qualifications
Ecology qualification or similar relevant background. Full clean driving licence for use in the UK. Ability to train in Europe.
