About the Role
Woking Borough Council is seeking a motivated and experienced professional to join our dedicated Environmental Health Team as an Environmental Officer or Environmental Health Officer. Reporting to the Principal Environmental Health Officer, you will play a key role in protecting and enhancing public health across the Borough. Your responsibilities will include providing expert advice and guidance to residents and businesses, conducting inspections and investigations, and taking appropriate enforcement action across all areas of environmental health. This varied and rewarding role requires a confident and proactive individual with strong investigative, written, and customer service skills. You will work with diverse client groups and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Experience
Broad experience in Environmental Health including food safety, health and safety, and pollution control is essential.
About you
A confident and proactive individual with strong investigative, written, and customer service skills. Comfortable working with diverse client groups and communicating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. A full, valid UK driving licence is essential. The ability to converse confidently with customers and provide clear advice in spoken English is required; an assessment may be part of the recruitment process.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in Environmental Health or related fields are expected. The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Certificate; support will be provided by the Council.
