About the Role
As a Grounds Maintenance Operative at Peabody, you will play a vital role in keeping our communities green, clean, and thriving. Based primarily in Lewisham, you will help maintain parks, play areas, waterways, and walkways to create safe and welcoming environments for residents and visitors. Your work will be hands-on and highly visible, involving the use of various tools and machinery to maintain beautiful landscapes throughout the year.

You will be responsible for maintaining shrub beds through pruning, weeding, and leaf clearing, cutting grass with hand-held and ride-on mowers, and removing litter, leaves, and debris—including bins and drug-related waste. Additional duties include weed and pest control, graffiti removal, snow clearance, patrolling parks, marking pitches, checking play areas for safety, supporting tree maintenance teams, and helping keep waterways clean and clear. You will follow all health and safety procedures and wear the required PPE and uniform.

Qualifications
- NVQ Level 1 or equivalent.
- A current UK driving licence.
