About the Role
As an Environmental Protection Officer within Thurrock Council's Environmental Protection Team, you will investigate statutory nuisances and environmental public health matters to help the team fulfill its statutory duties. The role is based within the Public Protection Service and Corporate Services Directorate. Some work outside normal working hours may be required. This is a permanent position offering the opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of the local community through effective environmental health enforcement and support.

Requirements

Experience
- Experience working within a local government Environmental Health Team is essential.

- You are motivated to support public health and environmental protection.
- You are adaptable to working some outside normal hours.
- You demonstrate professionalism and a commitment to continuous development.

Qualifications
- Environmental Health Degree or MSc qualification (essential)
- Science-based A levels (essential)
- Additional qualifications in Environmental Protection work such as IOA CoP or Diploma are desirable.
- Enhanced DBS check required.
