About the Role
Own your career and build something to be proud of at Balfour Beatty. In this role, you will promote a positive environmental culture through proactive engagement and communication with project teams, supply chain, clients, and statutory bodies. You will maintain and update plans and procedures including the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) during the works, and approve relevant documents such as the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) and method statements in consultation with the National Highways Project Manager and statutory bodies.

Acting as the key point of contact between regulatory authorities (Environment Agency, Natural England, Heritage England, Local Authorities) and other third-party consultees, you will coordinate and undertake regular site inspections with construction teams to monitor compliance with environmental licences, consents, plans, and procedures. You will implement corrective actions to ensure compliance with UK regulations and legislation, investigate environmental incidents and near misses in accordance with Balfour Beatty standards, and share lessons learned.

Additionally, you will keep detailed records of all site activities, environmental issues, transgressions, and tasks undertaken, providing professional and practical advice to contractors, consultants, and project team members on environmental and ecological matters.
