About the Role
As the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Strategy Lead at Walk Wheel Cycle Trust, you will drive our efforts to embed equity, diversity, and inclusion into every aspect of our work. You will lead the delivery of our inclusivity goals outlined in our new strategy, ensuring the organisation is welcoming and accessible to everyone, including neurodivergent individuals. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will shape and implement initiatives that create meaningful, lasting change. Your role will ensure Walk Wheel Cycle Trust is a place where people of all backgrounds, identities, and ways of thinking feel valued, supported, and able to thrive.
You will lead EDI work across the UK, focusing on inclusivity for neurodivergent people and others facing barriers to participation. Supporting organisational learning and reflection, you will help deepen understanding of how EDI—including neurodiversity—affects culture, systems, and ways of working. You will develop and deliver a four-year EDI action plan with clear, achievable steps that reflect diverse lived experiences and communication styles.
Coaching and mentoring Directors and leaders, you will foster shared responsibility for building an inclusive and psychologically safe environment. As a visible advocate for inclusion, you will represent Walk Wheel Cycle Trust in media and public spaces using accessible language and inclusive messaging. Collaboration with the fundraising team will help identify opportunities to support and sustain EDI goals.
This role suits someone who enjoys supporting leaders to think differently and make positive changes. Acting as a "critical friend," you will be kind, honest, and supportive while helping the charity improve inclusion. Your work will focus on improving opportunities for people facing the greatest barriers to walking, wheeling, and cycling, helping ensure more people feel included and able to participate.

About you
- Inclusive leadership style that values diverse communication styles, sensory needs, and ways of thinking.
- Ability to create space for others to contribute in ways that work for them.
- Enjoys supporting and coaching leaders to think in new ways and make positive changes.
- Kind, honest, and supportive approach acting as a "critical friend" to improve organisational inclusion.
Qualifications
There are no formal qualification requirements specified; however, recent training, development, or reflective practice in EDI is highly valued.
