About the Role
As an Estate Officer, you will provide direct service and guidance to members of the public to encourage maximum benefit from the facilities available at the city’s parks. You will carry out maintenance, clearance, and repairs to premises and the park environment to ensure a high standard of presentation. You will seek to maintain good relations with the public, local landowners, and other groups, dealing with routine complaints and enquiries and referring matters to the senior estate officer or duty manager as appropriate. The role involves patrolling the parks to ensure visitors can fully enjoy the facilities and that City Council and park policies are effectively implemented. You will work as part of a team and may be required to work weekends and Bank Holidays as part of a rota.
The role is based at Coombe Country Park, an award-winning site on the outskirts of Coventry, known for its quality management, conservation, visitor experience, and education. The park holds SSSI status, Green Flag awards, and other recognitions for excellence. Staff provide high quality care, development, and restoration of green spaces, supporting biodiversity and heritage within the ancient woodland landscape and listed building setting of Coombe Abbey Hotel. The environment is visitor-focused and family-friendly, encouraging exploration of heritage and biodiversity.
Experience
- Knowledge of parks, countryside, and fisheries management techniques
- Experience of countryside management and delivering horticultural projects to a high standard
- Experience using a broad range of machinery and equipment for estate management and horticultural tasks

- Available to work weekends and Bank Holidays on a rota basis
- Full UK driving licence is essential
Qualifications
- Right to Work in the UK is required (no sponsorship offered)
