
Location
Field Studies Council Bishops Wood, Worcestershire, close to the River Severn and Wyre Forest. Regular travel to learning locations in Birmingham to deliver Urban Geography courses and activities in Birmingham Parks.
Hours
Permanent full-time contract – average 37.5 hours per week. Weekly hours will vary across the year, with more during busy periods and fewer in quieter weeks.
Salary
Circa £27,350 per annum plus excellent benefits including generous annual leave, life assurance, and a health cash plan.
About the Role
Spend your days teaching outdoors at field study sites rather than in a classroom. You will work with primary and secondary schools, colleges, and universities delivering curriculum-linked activities that enhance students’ understanding of nature and the environment. Your responsibilities include developing, planning, and delivering courses in outdoor teaching sites, leading groups of all abilities in the local environment with a strong focus on health and safety. When not working in the field, you will contribute to other aspects of running a busy education centre. This is an active and rewarding role that requires stamina and enthusiasm. The centre is surrounded by ancient woodland and features outdoor learning areas with natural wood and willow sculptures. Working across different locations in Birmingham allows courses to meet a broad variety of educational needs. Experience
Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject with some previous teaching or tutoring experience. Confident in producing and preparing various learning resources.
